Legend has it that the idol of the deity, SREE PRASANNA MAHAGANAPATHY, imbued with ' Vaishnavaamsam', was installed and the temple was built in the village, in 17th Century . This ancient deity, 'Valampiri Vinayagar' , is very rare and is very powerful in granting the wishes of His sincere devotees, at all times. By mere surrender and total submission one can feel His grace, and experience teaches that such a devotee will never ever suffer agony in life.
